Refugee Realities
Refugee Realities is a free interactive simulation exercise that puts you in the position of a refugee or internally displaced person trying to find safety and a long term solution.
Refugee Realities is both an interactive performance event involving moving image, improvised theatre, audio-visual and photographic art forms as well as an ongoing online project to document the various realities refugees face.
Oxfam Australia aims to educate Australians about the extraordinary experiences of people who have fled from war and their humanitarian plight.
Refugee Realities provides guided tours for school groups during weekdays, open times for the general public to explore the exhibition and side-events including lectures, film screenings and cultural events.
Come navigate a simulation mine field, find your way to the refugee camp and collect your ration card, go searching for your basic needs like water and food, help build a temporary shelter and most of all, learn about the experiences faced by more than 30 million people each year. To find out more or to get involved contact refugeerealities@oxfam.org.au.
